menufocus_template or Menu options (︙)

When you want to provide the user with several options for actions to take that pertains to an individual Thing (e.g., Edit, View details, Send message, Delete), you can do so using the menu options reusable element.
This focus group reusable element contains a menu of dropdown buttons. The menu popover is triggered by clicking on the icon and can be dismissed by clicking anywhere outside of the focus group. You can add this reusable element to a repeating group and allow users to perform certain actions for each entry.
You should clone the menufocusgroup_template
reusable element for every object that you want to allow your users to modify in this way.
For example, if you have a data table repeating group that displays a list of Users, and you would like to use this dropdown to Edit or Delete Users in each row, you would need to have a menufocusgroup_user reusable element, created from the menufocusgroup_template element.
Create a copy of the menufocusgroup_template
reusable element and give it a name that includes the data type that this will be modified by.
To do this, create a copy of the menufocusgroup_template
reusable element and give it a name that includes the data type that this will be modified by. For example, if you are going to display a list of Users in the data table, and you do not already have a menufocusgroup that can edit an individual User, the menufocusgroup_template
reusable element can be copied and named "menufocusgroup_user" as shown below:
Once the copy has been made, change the type of content from "Dummy", to "User" (or the data type that you are creating this menufocusgroup for)
Next, change the group focus element's type of content from "Dummy" to "User" (or the data type that you are creating this menufocusgroup for)
Now that the correct type of content is in place for the reusable element and the groupfocus element, we can edit the individual menu option's shown within the groupfocus element (e.g. "Edit", "Delete", and any other options needed). By default, all menu options are hidden by default, except for "Edit" and "Delete"). To toggle the visibility in the editor of the other, placeholder options, expand the Elements tree, and use the eye icons to toggle their visibility
To change which options are visible by default, select the group which contains the elements for one of the menu options, and check or uncheck the settings for This element is visible on page load
to show or hide that menu option:
When adjusting whether an element is visible on page load or not, make sure that you adjust the group's visibility settings (e.g. Group Option 1, Group Option 2, Group Option 3, etc.), and not the text element within the group's visibility settings (e.g. Text Option 1, Text Option 2, Text Option 3, etc.). This will ensure that the group's height collapses if it is unused.
When the visibility settings are in place for the menu options that you need, modify the workflows for the individual group options to meet your application's requirements.
After the workflows are in place you can then use this menufocusgroup in any relevant repeating group, where these menu options are useful. When Canvas imports new repeating group modules into your application, it automatically uses the "menufocusgroup_template" reusable element. You can delete the instance of that element within the repeating group, and replace it with the functional, corresponding menufocusgroup instead as shown in the example here: https://www.loom.com/share/3693c4b290194d338161b8074af778f6
